On 8 November 2025, 200 female leaders from the UK’s Healthcare and Technology businesses will march together in the Lord Mayor’s Show under one banner: Leading the Future.

This exciting initiative will showcase the incredible female leadership within healthcare, legal and technology industries, making up a quantity of the 697 women, Dame Susan Langley DBE* would like to see in the show.

From data scientists and surgeons, to AI entrepreneurs, allied health professionals and CEOs, these are the faces shaping the future of care, equity, and innovation.

As such, we are more than a little excited, that our very own Helen Maynard (KBC Managing Partner) was invited to take part in the initiative and join this remarkable group.  It’s a true testament to the pioneering leadership she brings in her role at KBC and to the healthcare organisations she works with.

Sharing her insight for the campaign’s three questions: ‘Here’s who I am, where I work, and why I joined’ Helen’s responses illustrate her deep-rooted commitment to clinical excellence.

Here’s who I am:

I have had the privilege of working in London since 2006, holding senior nursing positions with both the Metropolitan Police and King’s College Hospital. My career has been shaped by a deep commitment to public service, including four years as a volunteer with the RNLI’s Thames-based search and rescue team.

Though not originally from London, my family has strong ties to the city. I was married on the River Thames, and together with my husband, we are raising three children with deep Southern roots. I feel a profound connection to London and its communities.

In 2014, I transitioned into healthcare consultancy and now serve as Managing Partner at KBC Healthcare Consultants. In this role, I lead engagement strategies for NHS and wider healthcare clients. Our mission is to support hospitals across the country and London in building safe, sustainable, and well-supported clinical workforces. I am especially passionate about ensuring clinicians have a voice in shaping the workforce decisions that affect their practice and wellbeing.

As a woman in consultancy, I have faced challenges, but also found purpose in paving the way for others. Participating in the Lord Mayor’s parade specifically on the Women in Health and Tech float is both an honour and a celebration of the progress we continue to make. It is important to me, especially as a mother of two young daughters, to demonstrate that women can thrive in both healthcare and business, and that success includes being visible in spaces that uplift and empower women.

As a Registered Nurse, I am proud to represent a profession that is both compassionate and capable of leadership. I hope my presence at this event inspires other women working in and around the NHS to embrace the full spectrum of their potential.

We are immensely proud of Helen’s role in this campaign as a representative of KBC and the work we do, and wanted to take this opportunity to connect with those she has worked alongside, with, and for, to highlight just how exceptional she is:

I’m incredibly proud to share that our Managing Partner, Helen Maynard, will be representing both nursing and KBC (Kendall Bluck Consulting) at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show, as part of the Women in Health delegation. Helen will stand alongside other exceptional women leaders in healthcare and technology, marking a powerful moment of recognition and celebration.

Having worked with Helen in both clinical and managerial capacities, and now as co-Managing Partners, I’ve witnessed firsthand the depth of her leadership. From her very first NHS post over 20 years ago, Helen has embodied the qualities every nurse aspires to: compassion, fairness, empathy, and clinical excellence.

Her journey at KBC has been nothing short of transformative. Starting as a Subject Matter Expert, then Consultancy Director, and now Managing Partner, Helen has consistently gone above and beyond, offering strategic guidance, unwavering support, and a tireless commitment to the values that define our work.

Even in her earliest consultancy role, she was the quiet force behind the scenes, always available to advise, reassure, and steer the business with integrity.

Helen’s leadership is defined by honesty, dedication, and fairness. It’s truly fitting that she’s been selected to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show — a celebration of those who shape the future of our professions.

We are fortunate to have Helen at the helm of KBC, championing the voices of clinical teams and ensuring that patient safety, education, and training remain central to every review we undertake.

I’d like to personally thank Helen, and all the inspiring women leaders joining her in the parade, as well as those who couldn’t attend but continue to lead with impact every day.

*This year Dame Susan Langley DBE will be installed as Lady Mayor, only the third woman in the role of Lord Mayor of the City of London in its 700-year history.  She will be the 697th Lord Mayor and is keen to see 697 women (who excel in the fields of healthcare, technology and law) in the show to celebrate this!
